The transfer process of an already installed Joomla from another server to a Top.Host server is very simple and can be carried out by taking the following steps.

File transfer

You need to transfer your files from another registrar to Top.Host and more precisely to your root folder. You can do this directly through the ftp service. You can find the ftp service access information (Host / Username / Password) in the web hosting activation email with the subject Web Hosting :: Managing Information which you received when you purchased your plan.

In case you have lost the activation email, you can request for it to be re-sent from mytophost panel. In this case, the passwords will be reset and you will receive new ones.

Database

If you have a backup file of the database from another provider, you will need to upload it to the new base that you will create in Plesk and then restore it.

a) Creating a database

In order to create a new database, follow the instructions as described here.

b) Import the backup file of the base from another registrar in the empty base that you created in Plesk as described in the previous step. In order to import the backup file of your base, follow the instructions described here.

Editing the Configuration File

In this step, you will have to edit the configuration file in the fields involving the following:

Name of the database

Username of the database

Password of the database

Database server (In order to find the right database server, follow the steps described here.)

In order to find the configuration file:

Log into myTophost Panel and click on Plesk Login in order to connect to the Plesk of the plan that you are interested in.

2. Navigate to the root folder and click on the configuration file.

3. Find the information that you need to change by clicking on Edit in Text Editor, change and save.

Sitepreview

Once you have completed all the previous steps, make sure that everything is working properly through the sitepreview option

Entering the nameservers

If everything is working, enter the nameservers through your registrar. You can find the nameservers in the web hosting activation email with the subject Web Hosting :: Managing Information that you received when you purchased your plan.
